How to import Wild Life save files (.wlsave)

A .wlsave file is a Wild Life save container. Creators use it to share things the game itself can export: character presets, sandbox scenes, maps, outfit setups, animations and prop collections. Importing one puts that content straight into your own game.

The one-click way: Minervha Studio

Minervha Studio (free, Windows, no account needed) detects what kind of save a .wlsave contains and routes it to the right game folder automatically.

  1. Download Studio if you don't have it yet.
  2. Browse the Workshop — the Saves tab lists every .wlsave, filterable by what it is for: Character, Scene, Outfit, Animation or Prop.
  3. Click Install on the save you want. Studio places it in the correct import folder.
  4. Launch Wild Life. The game picks up new files on startup and imports them.

The manual way: AutoImport folders

Wild Life watches two import folders inside your local app data. Press Win + R, paste the path, and drop the .wlsave file there:

Character presets:

%LocalAppData%\WildLifeC\Saved\CharacterPresets\AutoImport\

Sandbox scenes, maps and collections:

%LocalAppData%\WildLifeC\Saved\SandboxSaveGames\AutoImport\

Restart Wild Life afterwards: the game imports everything found in AutoImport on launch. If you're not sure which of the two folders a file belongs to, check its category on the workshop page you downloaded it from — that's exactly what the Character/Scene/Outfit labels mean.
