How to install Wild Life mods
Wild Life mods add new outfits, hairstyles, characters, props and more to the game. They are distributed as .mod packages, and there are two ways to get them into your game: the automatic way with Minervha Studio (recommended), or the manual way with a .pak file.
The one-click way: Minervha Studio
Minervha Studio is a free desktop app for Windows — no account required to install it. It manages your entire mod library: browsing, installing, updating and removing mods without ever touching game folders yourself.
- Download Minervha Studio and run the installer.
- Open the Workshop — either inside Studio or on this site. Every mod page has an Open in Studio button.
- Pick a mod and click Install. Studio downloads the
.modpackage, extracts it, and places the game files exactly where Wild Life expects them. - Launch Wild Life. The new content is available immediately — outfits and characters show up in their normal in-game menus.
When a creator updates a mod you use, Studio notifies you and updates it in one click. Uninstalling is just as clean: Studio removes exactly the files it installed.
The manual way: .pak files
Wild Life loads mod content from its Paks folder:
[your Wild Life folder]\WildLifeC\Content\Paks\
If you have a .pak file — for example one built with Forge, which bundles several mods into a single pak — drop it into that folder and restart the game. To remove it, delete the file.
A raw .mod package is not a .pak: it is a container that also carries the mod's metadata (name, author, version, categories). Studio reads that container natively, which is why the one-click route is the recommended one — you never have to unpack anything yourself.
Free mods vs. premium mods
Everything on the workshop marked Free can be downloaded by anyone, with or without an account. Premium and Mythic content is reserved for Patreon supporters: sign in on the site or in Studio with your Patreon account, and your tier unlocks the matching downloads automatically — no codes, no extra steps.
Troubleshooting
- The mod doesn't appear in game. Make sure Wild Life was fully closed and restarted after installing. If you installed manually, double-check the
.pakis directly insideWildLifeC\Content\Paks\, not in a subfolder. - Two mods conflict. Mods that modify the same content can override each other. Try removing one of the two. Forge users can rebuild their bundle with a different selection.
- A download button is locked. That mod requires a higher membership tier — see Upgrade.
- Studio doesn't open when I click "Open in Studio". Install Studio first; the button uses a desktop link that only works once the app is on your machine.
